At Medix Math Studios, we believe the quality of our product begins with the quality of our tutors. We also understand that learning to teach is a very complex activity and even under excellent conditions, fully-trained teachers need instructional support. It is with this in mind that the second round of our selection process includes some training and evaluation to ensure that each candidate has the requisite disposition and competencies to teach children.
Tutors at Medix Math Studios help unlock students' academic and creative potential. You will engage students virtually/face-to-face using learning material and resources that have been created in our collaborative planning sessions. You will monitor student progress using a selected learning management system and assign activities according to students' needs and course objectives.
Positions are open for both modalities. Please indicate your preference in your application.
Absolutely! Whether you are teaching online or face-to-face, the use of digital technology plays a significant role in what we do. Basic knowledge of how to use GSuite (Docs, Slides, etc) and Office (Word, PowerPoint, etc) applications is expected.
Face-to-face classes are held in Kingston and Spalding, Clarendon.
Our classes never contain more than 20 students.
Each lesson lasts no more than 90 minutes. We adopt brain-based learning approaches that ensure students are engaged in active learning to increase the probability of knowledge retention.
You can! We have both full time and part time positions available.
The amount you earn is based on the number of sessions you teach per week. You can earn as little as $20,000 per month for teaching one class per week. You have the potential to earn much more since you can teach multiple sessions per week and a commission is earned for each student who joins our studios based on your referral.
No, you don't. We have flexible scheduling which includes weekday and weekend (Saturday and Sunday) classes. Let us know your availability and we will work together to create a schedule that works for you.
That's absolutely fine. We pride ourselves in the systems of support we have created for all our tutors, regardless of your years of experience. Our tutors are required to successfully complete a training programme before they begin tutoring students. The programme includes lesson plan development, differentiated instruction, and using assessment data to inform instruction. We are very intentional in what we do because our aim is success for ALL students. We meet several times each year to review and plan for our students. You will also have opportunities to engage in local and overseas professional learning activities. Each year you spend with us will make you a much stronger teacher.
